1912 AJS Silver, Lily of the Valley Brooch (ref: 6214)
Beautiful old sterling silver pin brooch from 1912. The design is that of a sprig of Lily of the Valley emerging from its leaf, which is a familiar sight in the spring in England.
The leaf is guilloche enamel. The silver carries a full set of English sterling silver hallmarks that date it to Birmingham 1912 along with the makers initials AJS for Arthur Johnson Smith and the registered design number 612981. In the art nouveau style.
The enamel and the silver are in excellent condition.
It measures 45mm in length x 10mm in width. These brooches have been sold in Auction Houses around the world.
