1950's Gaylite (NZ) / MEISSEN Table Lamp (12441)
Founded in the 1940's many of the lamp bases were designed at Gaylite Studios and manufactured by potteries in Italy and Japan, and also from several European sources and the United States, with some made in Auckland by Crown Lynn Potteries.
Underneath is the Gaylite Auckland sticker, and the MEISSEN mark. It follows the Dresden lace style. Lots of those came in to be made up as bedroom lighting for those who liked the feminine touch. The lace is rarely intact though, as being very brittle it was easily damaged. The lace on this lamp is undamaged!
Condition: There have been 2 repairs made to the lady's arms, and the thumb on her left hand is missing. Other than this, it is in good condition for its age. Possibly made in Italy and wired by Gaylite.
Measures 165mm w x 125mm d x 295mm high. Takes a bayonet light bulb. Good working order.
