Antique Victorian Pulled Thread, Monogrammed 'B' Ladies Lingerie Bag (9808)
This beautiful antique lingerie bag has the letter 'B' embroidered onto its top side. The cream linen bag has a cotton ruffle around 3 of its sides.
The technique used on the wide bands is called 'pulled thread embroidery'. Pulled thread work is a form of embroidery in which the warp and weft threads of the ground material are pulled together to make small holes by tightening stitches.
These incredible finds are becoming rarer and rarer.
