c.1850 Tasmania Gold Rush Brooch (ref: 6211)
This is a very unique piece of jewellery. It is a small cockle shell with a an iridescent, Mother-of-Pear sheen. At its centre is a piece of gold in the shape of Tasmania and with the words TASMANIA engraved in tiny letters on it.
It has the C clasp that was used for brooches during that era. A very old, unique treasure from the Tasmania Gold Rush of the 1850's.
It measures 25mm wide x 24mm high x 15mm deep.
