Timaru Pottery -1950s  Lidded Bread Barrel/Crock.  Great condition, the lid is wood.

The stamp is hard read but says Timaru Potteries

Bread Barrels. Crocks, demijohns, vases and other household items made by Timaru Potteries in the 1950s have coloured glazes. Green mottled glazes were the most common, although a pink and green mottled glaze was also popular.   The round sided bread barrels were thrown on the wheel, while the straight sided butter cocks were made using moulds.
