Arne Vodder FD Teak Mid-Century Chair 1960s. What a interesting design.
Arne Vodder FD Teak Mid-Century Chair 1960s. Arne Vodder was one of the great Danish designers of the mid 20th century. The armchair frame is made of solid teak and has been professionally and carefully restored by removing old coatings.
The mechanism allows for reclining. The pillows have been left in the condition - we are not sure if these have been refurbished but the material is in good condition.
Vodder is best known for his furniture designs, which tended to be simple pieces composed of natural materials such as rosewood and teak, often inspired by the natural forms, and occasionally accented with colourful panels.
Vodder worked with several respected brands throughout his career, designing cabinetry, tables, seating, and more for furniture makers Fritz Hanson, France & Søn, Nielaus, Sibast, Kircodan (for which he designed garden furniture), as well as the department store Havemanns Magasin A/S (for which he designed the interiors), among others.
